Jonny Enright

Jonny is a trombonist and composer. He formed Grupo X in 1997. Born in Halifax, Yorkshire, Jonny studied at the Royal College of Music in London. He has performed and recorded with many artists, including Gregory Isaacs, Dennis Brown, Tito Allen, Pucho and his Latin Soul Brothers, Lo Fidelity Allstars, Peggy Seeger, Kathryn Williams & Elbow.

Jim Le Messurier

Drummer / percussionist / composer
Jim is a drummer / percussionist and composer with considerable experience in London’s music scene, having led successful salsa band, Orquesta La Clave and more recently performing with rumba collective Dilanga, colombian folkloric group Papayera, and playing bata drums with the London Lucumi Choir. He is a key member of Penya, a latin-fusion band based in London. Born in Guernsey, Jim has studied his art extensively in the U.S.A, Cuba and Latin America and performed with many salsa greats including Lalo Rodriguez, Tony Vega, Camilo Azuquita, Tito Allen and Luisito Carrion.

Al MacSween

Al MacSween is steadily gaining a reputation for his creativity, versatility and innovative approach to the piano. His studious attitude and desire to communicate through different musical languages has led to collaborations with artists such as Omar Puente (Rubén González, Courtney Pine), Shankar Mahadevan (Shakti), Ruby Turner, Grammy award-winner Bickram Ghosh (Ravi Shankar) and a host of other international artists, including the late Abram Wilson, Claude Deppa, Tony Kofi, Pee Wee Ellis, London Community Gospel Choir, Dennis Rollins and many more.


David Pattman

David Pattman has been working in Latin music for more than 30 years. A founder member of El Sonido de Londres, La Clave and the Roberto Pla Latin Ensemble, he has gone on to play with countless other London bands.
He has also toured and recorded with many international artists such as Cubanismo, Cachaito Lopez and Omara Portuondo of the Buena Vista Social Club, Paul McCartney, Snowboy (8 albums) and Alex Wilson (4 albums).

Finn Peters

Finn Peters is one of the leading flute and sax players in the UK today. As a much-in-demand session player he has performed with such pioneers as Frederick Rzewski, Giovanni Hidalgo, DJ Spinna, Sam Rivers, Mulatu Astatke and Sa-Ra creative partners, to name a few. Finn has a string of award-wiinning releases of his own, the latest being the groundbreaking project, “Music of the Mind” (Mantella Records).


Lisa Millett

An outstanding singer, songwriter and live performer, Lisa’s career has covered house, soul, funk and jazz. She has had top 20 hits and has recorded with acts as diverse as ATFC, The All Seeing I, Lo Fidelity All Stars, Frankie Knuckles and Paul Oakenfold.
An ever present on the international house circuit, Lisa has also written and produced for the inimitable Tom Jones.

Olly Drew

Olly was lead singer with London-based ’90s band Freeloader. When not playing guitar with Grupo X, Olly is a singer-songwriter, pursuing indie-folk projects. He also produces music for tots through MyVoxSongs – his version of Incy Wincy Spider has over 49 million youtube hits!

Pete Eckford

Pete has had a varied career as a soul and latin percussionist, having worked with an array of stars, including Percy Sledge, The Valentine Brothers, Leroy Hutson, Hamish Stuart, Freakpower, Jimmy Bosch, Joe Bataan, Tito Allen, Orlando Watusi, Pucho & The Latin Soul Brothers and Jazz Jamaica.

Sean Corby

Sean is the Artistic Director of The Human Revolution Orchestra and Ode To The Human Spirit. He has performed with Jazz Warriors, Jazz Jamaica and many other internationally renowned jazz, reggae and pop artists. He is the Orchestra and Academy Manager at NYJO and has worked as an educator and project manager on pioneering music programmes for Tomorrow’s Warriors, The Roundhouse and Trinity Laban.

Simon Edwards

A founder member of Fairground Attraction, Simon has recorded and toured with Talk Talk, David Gray, Beth Gibbons, Michael Jackson, Kirsty MacColl, Loreena McKennit,, Alain Baschung, Juliet Greco and Peggy Seeger amongst many others.
